Our instructors are professional artists and dedicated educators who believe in the power of youth theatre. Through personalized coaching and real-world experience, they help students discover their voice, build confidence, and thrive on and off the stage.

Morgan Carberry
PRIVATE VOICE | PIANO | ACTING | AUDITION PREP
Morgan Carberry works as a professional actor, music director, and vocal coach for students throughout San Diego County. She has played roles at most regional theatres in San Diego, including Cygnet, San Diego Rep, San Diego Musical Theatre, New Village Arts, and more.
She aspires to help her students achieve their goals as young artists at JCompany and beyond. Morgan's students have performed at the Old Globe, the Barn Stage Company, Cygnet, and, of course, in many JCompany productions.

Kelly Corfield
PRIVATE VOICE | PIANO | ACTING | AUDITION PREP
She later went on to Chico State, where she earned a BFA in Recording Arts and continued to write, record, and perform regularly. Now, with over 5 million combined streams on Spotify alone, Kelly still loves writing, recording, and collaborating with others on music that spans many genres - including pop, R&B, electronic, jazz, country, and more.
Kelly enjoys helping students find their unique and personal sound while teaching the techniques necessary to bring out their true inner voice. Kelly prides herself on creating a safe, fun, and comfortable learning environment, where students become more confident with each lesson and more willing to take artistic risks and push their boundaries.

Mary Janus
PRIVATE VOICE | PIANO | ACTING | AUDITION PREP
Mary spent her youth performing in pre-professional and regional theatre in Boston and New York City. She was one of few company members accepted into the North Shore Music Theatre’s Youth Academy, trained in voice by The New England Conservatory and Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts.
She was accepted into Broadway Artist‘s Alliance Pre-Collegiate Training and Performance program and recently worked on Destiny of Desire at The Old Globe. Mary has directed and music-directed several youth, high school, and collegiate productions. Mary also teaches piano and provides voice and acting coaching.

Lorea Herald
VOICE | AUDITION PREP | MUSIC DIRECTION | MUSICAL THEATRE
Lorea Herald is a San Diego native, graduating from San Diego State University with a BA in Secondary Choral Education. She has served San Diego as an accompanist, vocalist, vocal/audition coach, and music and choral director for over 50 years!
"Miss Lorea's" passion and musical emphasis are in teaching and in the awakening of the artistic and creative expression in each of her students, regardless of their age. Seeing her students’ self-confidence rise and their success in their artistic endeavors is her greatest reward.
