Shalom Baby is the J’s way of welcoming our newest families into the community. From playgroups and baby book clubs to classes and family gatherings, it is a place where parents connect, babies grow, and friendships begin.
Families can enjoy programs like infant massage, sleep support, and helpful parenting resources, all designed for life with little ones. There are plenty of chances to meet other families, share milestones, and celebrate this special stage together. And yes, bubbies love to join the fun too.
“Bubbeleh” is a Yiddish term of endearment for a beloved little one, something like “sweetheart.” It is a word you might hear from a proud Jewish grandmother, lovingly known as a bubbe.

Calling all crawlers and walkers. If your little one has the wiggles, this class is for you!
Together, You & Me brings babies and caregivers together for music, movement, and stories in a joyful, welcoming space. These 30 minute classes help little ones explore, play, and connect with other families in our community.
Friday classes include a special Shabbat moment with songs and flameless candles, giving families a sweet way to welcome Shabbat together.

Looking for a simple way to nurture your bond with your child and strengthen their Jewish identity. Start with a story.
PJ Library sends free Jewish children’s books each month to families with kids from birth through age eight. The stories bring Jewish holidays, traditions, and values into your home through moments you share together.
When kids are ready for the next chapter, PJ Our Way continues the journey for ages 9 to 12. Each month, kids choose their own book based on their interests.

Our programs are designed to help babies, toddlers, and parents connect, play, and grow together.
Infant Massage helps parents learn how nurturing touch can support bonding, communication, and better sleep for babies.
SB Hangtime is relaxed family playtime. Parents can meet new friends while little ones explore, snack, and play together.
Tot N Company is a joyful class for toddlers and their caregivers. Families sing, move, play, explore, and celebrate Jewish holidays together.
Little Mensches brings kids together to practice mitzvot, which means good deeds. Through fun projects and activities, children learn how small acts of kindness can help repair the world.

For more than 25 years, over 5,000 San Diego families have been welcomed into our community through our programs. We have celebrated first milestones, shared meaningful moments, and helped families begin their Jewish journey together.
Your support helps us continue this work and welcome the next generation of families into our community.
Make a gift today and help create meaningful connections for families across San Diego.
