The Junior Camp Counselor is a seasonal temporary role responsible for implementing safe and age appropriate programs for campers enrolled in the LFJCC Summer Camp. Junior Camp Counselors will be expected to attend weekly staff meetings with assigned unit and entire camp staff, and will be expected to follow camp objectives, rules, policies and guidelines. Junior Camp Counselors will be required to establish positive relationships with parents, campers, as well as other staff, ensuring everyone is working together as a team. Individuals working as a Junior Camp Counselor will be responsible for utilizing good, sound judgment, as well as handling emergency situations and providing first aid when needed.
The Senior Camp Counselor is a seasonal temporary role responsible for implementing safe and age appropriate programs for campers enrolled in the LFJCC Summer Camp. Senior Camp Counselors will be expected to attend weekly staff meetings with assigned unit and entire camp staff, and will be expected to follow camp objectives, rules, policies and guidelines. Senior Camp Counselors will be required to establish positive relationships with parents, campers, as well as other staff, ensuring everyone is working together as a team. Individuals working as a Senior Camp Counselor will be responsible for utilizing good, sound judgment, as well as handling emergency situations and providing first aid when needed.
The Unit Leader serves as the primary adult responsible for the youth and staff in the camp unit. They will implement safe and age appropriate programs for their unit, help facilitate staff training, hold weekly staff meetings with their unit and will evaluate their counselors at mid-summer and at the end of summer. The Unit Leader is expected to follow camp objectives, rules, policies and guidelines at all times. This position will be responsible for turning in all required paperwork by the required deadlines, and will be responsible for establishing positive relationships with parents, campers and fellow staff. The Unit Leader will be required to use good/sound judgment, and will be responsible for handling emergency situations appropriately, providing first aid when needed.
Responsible for planning and leading age appropriate activities in one of the 4 following categories: Sports, Arts, Music, or Theater. This position will establish positive relationships with campers and camp staff and will help to promote their particular activity throughout the summer.
Our Inclusion Aides and Counselors provide extra support to help campers feel confident, included, and successful throughout the day. They assist with transitions, social connections, and participation in activities. We work closely with families to make sure each camper has a positive and meaningful camp experience.
The amount of financial assistance is determined based upon the availability of funding. Only complete applications with accompanying documentation will be reviewed. Receiving financial assistance is contingent on the availability of funds and is not guaranteed and may not be sufficient to meet the needs of every applicant. All inquiries and applications are kept confidential. To be considered for financial assistance for Camp Jaycee, you must be registered.
Financial Assistance awards for Camp Jaycee are due by 5:00 pm on March 15, 2026. Applications received after this date will be considered until all funds are allocated.

Camp Jaycee is pleased to offer bus pick-up and drop-off from six central locations during the main 8 weeks of camp, June 15 – August 7. If you would like to add your child to the bus schedule, contact the camp office. Our very dedicated bus drivers all drive during the school year for the San Diego and San Dieguito Unified School Districts.
Bus fees are $20.00 per week, per child (members and non-members). The following locations are being offered this summer

Extended hours before and after camp are available for an additional fee. Afternoon extended hours for preschool-aged campers are available only after 3:30. You will not be billed for extended care immediately; we track hours and charge them at the end of the session.
We also have After Camp Classes available for campers would like more specialized activities.

We take security seriously. We have highly trained, armed security on site in order to provide a higher level of protection for our campers, staff, members, and guests. We emphasize the fact that the safety of your children is our highest priority.
For this reason, if you are running late, please walk your camper into the camp office. We will make sure they get to where they belong.
We are additionally located next door to the San Diego Police and Fire-Rescue Departments.
Camp Jaycee is a fully inclusive camp. We are happy to be a vendor with the San Diego Regional Center. To ensure all campers get what they need to be at camp, we require families to complete this Intake Form no later than February 15th, 2026. All applications will be reviewed, and families will be notified of what support is available this year by February 20th.
We are both American Camping Association (ACA) and National Inclusion Project (NIP) accredited which means that our camp has undergone a thorough (up to 300 standards) review of operation — from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. ACA collaborates with experts from American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to ensure that current practices reflect the most up-to-date research-based standards in camp operation. NIP Accreditation is one of the country’s gold standard inclusive recreation providers! The NIP recognizes camps that meet the highest standards of inclusion. We are inclusive, in mission, design, and practice, and Camp Jaycee serves as a model summer camp welcoming and serving children of all abilities.

Please pack a healthy lunch. Remember to send dairy or pareve foods, as we have a no meat or shellfish policy. This means no meat, poultry, or pork products. Cheese, yogurt, tuna, sunbutter and jelly sandwiches, vegetable soups, and pasta are fine. Lunches will be kept in a cool place, not refrigerated. A snack and iced water are provided.
Please label all belongings sent to camp with your camper’s first and last name, including the clothing your camper wears to camp.

Any changes or requests do need to be in writing — no exceptions—for example, early pick-ups, going home with another camper, or a change to their bus schedule. Sending a note with your camper will work, however, we’d prefer if you e-mailed the camp office so we can be assured that the message gets to us.
